वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-4, chapter-14, verse-20

द्रवन्ति च मृगाः शीघ्रं भग्ना इव रणे हयाः ।
पतन्ति च खगा भूमौ क्षीणपुण्या इव ग्रहाः ॥२०॥
20. dravanti ca mṛgāḥ śīghraṃ bhagnā iva raṇe hayāḥ ,
patanti ca khagā bhūmau kṣīṇapuṇyā iva grahāḥ.

20. And the deer quickly flee, like horses defeated in battle. And birds fall to the ground, like planets whose accumulated merit is exhausted.
