वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-26, verse-6

खरस्त्रिशिरसा तेन मृत्युलोभात् प्रसादितः ।
गच्छ युध्येत्यनुज्ञातो राघवाभिमुखो ययौ ॥६॥
6. kharastriśirasā tena mṛtyulobhāt prasāditaḥ ,
gaccha yudhyetyanujñāto rāghavābhimukho yayau.
6. kharaḥ triśirasā tena mṛtyu-lobhāt prasāditaḥ |
gaccha yudhya iti anujñātaḥ rāghava-abhimukhaḥ yayau
6. kharaḥ tena triśirasā mṛtyu-lobhāt prasāditaḥ,
[ca] "gaccha yudhya" iti anujñātaḥ,
rāghava-abhimukhaḥ yayau
6. Khara, having been propitiated by that Triśiras out of greed for death (or for slaying), and authorized with the words 'Go and fight!', departed facing Rāghava.
