वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-26, verse-4

अहं वास्य रणे मृत्युरेष वा समरे मम ।
विनिवर्त्य रणोत्साहं मुहूर्तं प्राश्निको भव ॥४॥
4. ahaṃ vāsya raṇe mṛtyureṣa vā samare mama ,
vinivartya raṇotsāhaṃ muhūrtaṃ prāśniko bhava.
4. aham vā asya raṇe mṛtyuḥ eṣaḥ vā samare mama |
vinivartya raṇa-utsāham muhūrtam prāśnikaḥ bhava
4. aham vā asya raṇe mṛtyuḥ,
vā eṣaḥ samare mama [mṛtyuḥ] raṇa-utsāham vinivartya,
muhūrtam prāśnikaḥ bhava
4. Either I shall be his death in battle, or he shall be my death in combat. Abandon your enthusiasm for battle for a moment and become an impartial judge.
