बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-42, verse-10

चन्द्राक्रान्तनवंशेशो मारकेशयुतो यदि ।
मारकस्थानगो वाऽपि जातोऽत्र निर्धनो नरः ॥१०॥
10. candrākrāntanavaṃśeśo mārakeśayuto yadi .
mārakasthānago vā'pi jāto'tra nirdhano naraḥ.
10. candra-ākrānta-navaṃśa-īśaḥ mārakeśa-yutaḥ yadi
māraka-sthāna-gaḥ vā api jātaḥ atra nirdhanaḥ naraḥ
10. If the lord of the navamsha sign occupied by the Moon is conjoined with a killer planet (mārakeśa), or if it is situated in a killer (māraka) house, then the native is poor.
