स सृष्ट्वा पृथिवीं देवः सर्वलोकेश्वरः प्रभुः ।

4. Having created the earth, that divine being (deva), the lord of all worlds, the master (prabhuḥ), the great soul (mahātmā), the supreme cosmic person (puruṣottama) made his bed in the waters. That divine being, consisting of water everywhere, then slept there by means of his yoga (yoga).
