महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-63, verse-12

कर्णस्रोतोद्भवं चापि मधुं नाम महासुरम् ।
तमुग्रमुग्रकर्माणमुग्रां बुद्धिं समास्थितम् ।
ब्रह्मणोऽपचितिं कुर्वञ्जघान पुरुषोत्तमः ॥१२॥

tamugramugrakarmāṇamugrāṁ buddhiṁ samāsthitam ,
brahmaṇo'pacitiṁ kurvañjaghāna puruṣottamaḥ.

12. The Supreme Person (puruṣottama), performing an act of reverence for Brahmā, killed the great demon (mahāsura) named Madhu, who was born from the ear canal, and who was terrible, of terrible deeds, and possessed of a fierce intellect.
