महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-38, verse-17

आत्मसंभाविताः स्तब्धा धनमानमदान्विताः ।
यजन्ते नामयज्ञैस्ते दम्भेनाविधिपूर्वकम् ॥१७॥
17. ātmasaṁbhāvitāḥ stabdhā dhanamānamadānvitāḥ ,
yajante nāmayajñaiste dambhenāvidhipūrvakam.

17. Those who are self-conceited, arrogant, and filled with pride due to wealth and honor, perform Vedic rituals (yajñas) merely in name, out of hypocrisy and without following proper injunctions.
