वेत्थ दाशार्ह सत्त्वं मे दीर्घकालं सहोषितः ।
उत वा मां न जानासि प्लवन्ह्रद इवाप्लवः ।
तस्मादप्रतिरूपाभिर्वाग्भिर्मां त्वं समर्छसि ॥३॥

3. vettha dāśārha sattvaṁ me dīrghakālaṁ sahoṣitaḥ ,
uta vā māṁ na jānāsi plavanhrada ivāplavaḥ ,
tasmādapratirūpābhirvāgbhirmāṁ tvaṁ samarchasi.

O Daśārha, you have lived with me for a long time; do you truly know my character (sattva)? Or perhaps you do not know me, like a non-swimmer in a pond meant for swimming. Therefore, you address me with such unfitting words.
