For, although I had committed a grave offense, I was cursed by my teacher (guru), the great sage (maharṣi), even when he was (partially) appeased. That great sage (maharṣi), whose brilliance was fierce, was indeed capable of burning even the entire earth (avaniṃ) with its oceans.
