पुनः पुनर्याच्यमानो दिष्टमित्यब्रवीच्छिवः ।
न तदन्यद्धि भविता भवितव्यं हि तत्तथा ॥८॥

8. punaḥ punaryācyamāno diṣṭamityabravīcchivaḥ ,
na tadanyaddhi bhavitā bhavitavyaṁ hi tattathā.

Being repeatedly implored, Shiva said, "It is destiny (diṣṭam)." He added, "Indeed, it will not be otherwise than that. What is destined (bhavitavyam) must happen that way."
