महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-105, verse-11

न जीवत्यधनः पापः कुतः पापस्य तन्त्रणम् ।
पापो ध्रुवमवाप्नोति विनाशं नाशयन्कृतम् ॥११॥
11. na jīvatyadhanaḥ pāpaḥ kutaḥ pāpasya tantraṇam ,
pāpo dhruvamavāpnoti vināśaṁ nāśayankṛtam.
11. na jīvati adhanaḥ pāpaḥ kutaḥ pāpasya tantraṇam
pāpaḥ dhruvam avāpnoti vināśam nāśayan kṛtam
11. A poor and wicked person does not truly thrive. How can such a sinful person (pāpa) maintain their life or find support (tantraṇam)? A wicked person certainly incurs destruction by destroying the good deeds (kṛtam) done for them.
