उत्तर उवाच ।
अद्याहमनुगच्छेयं दृढधन्वा गवां पदम् ।
यदि मे सारथिः कश्चिद्भवेदश्वेषु कोविदः ॥१॥

adyāhamanugaccheyaṁ dṛḍhadhanvā gavāṁ padam ,
yadi me sārathiḥ kaścidbhavedaśveṣu kovidaḥ.

Uttara said: 'Today I would pursue the cows' path, being a strong bowman, if only I had a charioteer who is expert with horses.'
