महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-99, verse-14

स शक्रवज्राभिहतः पपात महासुरः काञ्चनमाल्यधारी ।
यथा महाञ्शैलवरः पुरस्तात्स मन्दरो विष्णुकरात्प्रमुक्तः ॥१४॥
14. sa śakravajrābhihataḥ papāta; mahāsuraḥ kāñcanamālyadhārī ,
yathā mahāñśailavaraḥ purastā;tsa mandaro viṣṇukarātpramuktaḥ.

saḥ mandaraḥ viṣṇukarāt pramuktaḥ
14. That great asura, Vritra, who wore golden garlands, fell down, struck by Indra's thunderbolt (vajra). He fell just as the great mountain Mandara, formerly released from the hand of Viṣṇu, would fall.
