महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-174, verse-20

ते द्वादशं वर्षमथोपयान्तं वने विहर्तुं कुरवः प्रतीताः ।
तस्माद्वनाच्चैत्ररथप्रकाशाच्छ्रिया ज्वलन्तस्तपसा च युक्ताः ॥२०॥
20. te dvādaśaṁ varṣamathopayāntaṁ; vane vihartuṁ kuravaḥ pratītāḥ ,
tasmādvanāccaitrarathaprakāśā;cchriyā jvalantastapasā ca yuktāḥ.
20. te dvādaśam varṣam atha upayāntam
vane vihartum kuravaḥ pratītāḥ
tasmāt vanāt caitrarathaprakāśāt
śriyā jvalantaḥ tapasā ca yuktāḥ
20. As the twelfth year of their forest dwelling for wandering approached, the Kurus (Pāṇḍavas) became renowned. From that forest, they blazed with splendor, resembling the radiance of Caitraratha, and were endowed with (chaste) asceticism (tapas).
