महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-128, verse-2

लोमश उवाच ।
ततः स याजयामास सोमकं तेन जन्तुना ।
मातरस्तु बलात्पुत्रमपाकर्षुः कृपान्विताः ॥२॥
2. lomaśa uvāca ,
tataḥ sa yājayāmāsa somakaṁ tena jantunā ,
mātarastu balātputramapākarṣuḥ kṛpānvitāḥ.

2. Lomasha said: Then he caused King Somaka to perform a ritual (yajña) with that creature, but the mothers, filled with compassion, forcibly pulled their son away.
