महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-128, verse-11

तमब्रवीद्गुरुः सोऽथ पच्यमानोऽग्निना भृशम् ।
त्वं मया याजितो राजंस्तस्येदं कर्मणः फलम् ॥११॥
11. tamabravīdguruḥ so'tha pacyamāno'gninā bhṛśam ,
tvaṁ mayā yājito rājaṁstasyedaṁ karmaṇaḥ phalam.
11. tam abravīt guruḥ saḥ atha pacyamānaḥ agninā bhṛśam
tvam mayā yājitaḥ rājan tasya idam karmaṇaḥ phalam
11. atha guruḥ agninā bhṛśam pacyamānaḥ tam abravīt rājan
tvam mayā yājitaḥ (asi) tasya karmaṇaḥ idam phalam (asti)
11. Then, the guru, who was being intensely consumed by fire, said to him: "O King, you were made to perform a Vedic ritual (yajña) by me; this is the fruit of that action (karma)."
