महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-103, verse-19

त्रिदशा विष्णुना सार्धमुपजग्मुः पितामहम् ।
पूरणार्थं समुद्रस्य मन्त्रयित्वा पुनः पुनः ।
ऊचुः प्राञ्जलयः सर्वे सागरस्याभिपूरणम् ॥१९॥
19. tridaśā viṣṇunā sārdhamupajagmuḥ pitāmaham ,
pūraṇārthaṁ samudrasya mantrayitvā punaḥ punaḥ ,
ūcuḥ prāñjalayaḥ sarve sāgarasyābhipūraṇam.

19. The gods, accompanied by Viṣṇu, approached Brahmā (pitāmaha). After repeatedly consulting about the purpose of filling the ocean, they all, with folded hands, spoke concerning the complete filling of the ocean.
