वैशंपायन उवाच ।

दृष्ट्वा चुक्रोश दुःखार्ता वचनं चेदमब्रवीत् ॥१॥

Vaiśampāyana said: "When Pṛthā stood up, Subhadrā, distressed with sorrow, then saw her brother (Krishna), cried out, and spoke these words."
