O dear one (tāta), those who act with a remainder (saśeṣakāriṇaḥ) [meaning, they show restraint and do not utterly destroy] find themselves with a remainder everywhere [i.e., they are safe, something is always left for them]. On the other hand, those who act without remainder (niḥśeṣakāriṇaḥ) [who destroy completely] constantly face fear due to their acts of total annihilation (aśeṣakaraṇāt).
