विदुर उवाच ।
अत्र ते वर्तयिष्यामि नमस्कृत्वा स्वयंभुवे ।
यथा संसारगहनं वदन्ति परमर्षयः ॥२॥

atra te vartayiṣyāmi namaskṛtvā svayaṁbhuve ,
yathā saṁsāragahanaṁ vadanti paramarṣayaḥ.

Vidura said: Having offered obeisance to the Self-existent One, I will now explain to you how the great sages (paramarṣi) describe the profound wilderness of existence (saṃsāra).
