देवा ऊचुः ।
का हि लब्ध्वा प्रियान्पुत्राञ्शपेदेवं पितामह ।
ऋते कद्रूं तीक्ष्णरूपां देवदेव तवाग्रतः ॥७॥

kā hi labdhvā priyānputrāñśapedevaṁ pitāmaha ,
ṛte kadrūṁ tīkṣṇarūpāṁ devadeva tavāgrataḥ.

7. devāḥ ūcuḥ kā hi labdhvā priyān putrān śāpet evam
pitāmaha ṛte kadrūm tīkṣṇarūpām devadeva tava agrataḥ

7. The gods said: "O Grandfather, O God of gods, who indeed, having obtained beloved sons, would curse them in this manner, except Kadru, whose form is fierce (or who is fierce-natured), in your presence?"
