महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-222, verse-16

वैशंपायन उवाच ।
एवमुक्ता ततः शार्ङ्गी पुत्रानुत्सृज्य खाण्डवे ।
जगाम त्वरिता देशं क्षेममग्नेरनाश्रयम् ॥१६॥
16. vaiśaṁpāyana uvāca ,
evamuktā tataḥ śārṅgī putrānutsṛjya khāṇḍave ,
jagāma tvaritā deśaṁ kṣemamagneranāśrayam.
16. vaiśaṃpāyanaḥ uvāca evam uktā tataḥ śārṅgī putrān utsṛjya
khāṇḍave jagāma tvaritā deśam kṣemam agneḥ anāśrayam
16. Vaiśampāyana said: Thus addressed, the female Śārṅga bird then, having abandoned her sons in the Khāṇḍava forest, quickly went to a safe place, beyond the reach of the fire.
