महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-222, verse-10

शार्ङ्गका ऊचुः ।
न विद्म वै वयं मातर्हृतमाखुमितः पुरा ।
अविज्ञाय न शक्ष्यामो बिलमाविशतुं वयम् ॥१०॥

10. śārṅgakā ūcuḥ ,
na vidma vai vayaṁ mātarhṛtamākhumitaḥ purā ,
avijñāya na śakṣyāmo bilamāviśatuṁ vayam.

10. The Śārṅgakas said: 'O Mother, we do not know for certain if a mouse was carried away from here before. Without knowing this, we will not be able to enter the hole.'
