महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-215, verse-6

इदमिन्द्रः सदा दावं खाण्डवं परिरक्षति ।
तं न शक्नोम्यहं दग्धुं रक्ष्यमाणं महात्मना ॥६॥
6. idamindraḥ sadā dāvaṁ khāṇḍavaṁ parirakṣati ,
taṁ na śaknomyahaṁ dagdhuṁ rakṣyamāṇaṁ mahātmanā.
6. idam indraḥ sadā dāvam khāṇḍavam pari-rakṣati
tam na śaknomi aham dagdhum rakṣyamāṇam mahātmanā
6. Indra always protects this Khāṇḍava forest. I am unable to burn it, as it is being protected by that great being (Indra).
