महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-190, verse-3

यथैव कृष्णोक्तवती पुरस्तान्नैकान्पतीन्मे भगवान्ददातु ।
स चाप्येवं वरमित्यब्रवीत्तां देवो हि वेद परमं यदत्र ॥३॥
3. yathaiva kṛṣṇoktavatī purastā;nnaikānpatīnme bhagavāndadātu ,
sa cāpyevaṁ varamityabravīttāṁ; devo hi veda paramaṁ yadatra.
3. yathā eva kṛṣṇā uktavatī purastāt
na ekān patīn me bhagavān dadātu
sa ca api evam varam iti abravīt
tām devaḥ hi veda paramam yat atra
3. Just as Kṛṣṇā (Draupadi) had said previously, 'May the Lord grant me many husbands!' and he [Lord Shiva] indeed said to her, 'So be it (vara)!' For the god truly knows what is the supreme (parama) outcome in this matter.
