महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-128, verse-8

एवमुक्त्वा प्रहस्यैनं निश्चित्य पुनरब्रवीत् ।
मा भैः प्राणभयाद्राजन्क्षमिणो ब्राह्मणा वयम् ॥८॥
8. evamuktvā prahasyainaṁ niścitya punarabravīt ,
mā bhaiḥ prāṇabhayādrājankṣamiṇo brāhmaṇā vayam.
8. evam uktvā prahasya enam niścitya punaḥ abravīt mā
bhaiḥ prāṇabhayāt rājan kṣamiṇaḥ brāhmaṇāḥ vayam
8. Having said this, Drona laughed at him and, after a moment's thought, spoke again: "O King, do not fear for your life. We Brahmins (brāhmaṇa) are naturally forgiving."
