जनमेजय उवाच ।
ज्येष्ठानुज्येष्ठतां तेषां नामधेयानि चाभिभो ।
धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्राणामानुपूर्व्येण कीर्तय ॥१॥

jyeṣṭhānujyeṣṭhatāṁ teṣāṁ nāmadheyāni cābhibho ,
dhṛtarāṣṭrasya putrāṇāmānupūrvyeṇa kīrtaya.

1. Janamejaya said: O venerable one, please recount the names of Dhṛtarāṣṭra's sons to me in their proper sequence, from eldest to youngest.

1. ג׳ַנַמֵג׳ַיַה אמר, הו אדון עוצמתי, ספר לי לפי הסדר מי מבני דְהְרְטַרָאשְׁתְרַה היה הבכור ומי הצעיר, ומהם שמותיהם.
