तच्छ्रुत्वा भाषितं तस्य गम्भीरार्थपदं महत् ।
तथ्यं ब्रूहीति सौमित्रिः सूतं वाक्यमथाब्रवीत् ॥१८॥

18. tacchrutvā bhāṣitaṃ tasya gambhīrārthapadaṃ mahat ,
tathyaṃ brūhīti saumitriḥ sūtaṃ vākyamathābravīt.

18. Having heard that great speech of his, which was profound in its meaning and words, Lakshmana (Saumitri) then addressed the charioteer with these words: 'Speak the truth!'
