वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-42, verse-13

तालमात्रमथोत्पत्य न्यपतत् स शरातुरः ।
व्यनदद्भैरवं नादं धरण्यामल्पजीवितः ।
म्रियमाणस्तु मारीचो जहौ तां कृत्रिमां तनुम् ॥१३॥
13. tālamātramathotpatya nyapatat sa śarāturaḥ ,
vyanadadbhairavaṃ nādaṃ dharaṇyāmalpajīvitaḥ ,
mriyamāṇastu mārīco jahau tāṃ kṛtrimāṃ tanum.

śarāturaḥ | vyanadat bhairavam nādam

13. Then, having sprung up just a palm's height, he fell down, afflicted by the arrow. With his life ebbing away, he roared a terrible sound on the ground. Maricha, as he was dying, abandoned that artificial body.
