वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-21, verse-12

एवमुक्तस्तु वचनं रामो धर्मभृतां वरः ।
भूयस्तामब्रवीद्वाक्यं मातरं भृशदुःखिताम् ॥१२॥
12. evamuktastu vacanaṃ rāmo dharmabhṛtāṃ varaḥ ,
bhūyastāmabravīdvākyaṃ mātaraṃ bhṛśaduḥkhitām.
12. evam uktaḥ tu vacanam rāmaḥ dharmabhṛtām varaḥ
bhūyaḥ tām abravīt vākyam mātaram bhṛśaduḥkhitām
12. evam uktaḥ tu dharmabhṛtām varaḥ rāmaḥ bhūyaḥ
tām bhṛśaduḥkhitām mātaram vacanam vākyam abravīt
12. But Rama, the foremost among those who uphold natural law (dharma), having thus been spoken to, again addressed his deeply distressed mother with these words.
