वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-67, verse-7

पूर्वं प्रतिज्ञा विदिता वीर्यशुल्का ममात्मजा ।
राजानश्च कृतामर्षा निर्वीर्या विमुखीकृताः ॥७॥
7. pūrvaṃ pratijñā viditā vīryaśulkā mamātmajā ,
rājānaśca kṛtāmarṣā nirvīryā vimukhīkṛtāḥ.

7. Previously, my daughter, for whom valor (vīrya) was declared as the marriage fee (śulka), was known by this vow. All the kings, having become angry, were deprived of their strength and made to turn back (in disappointment).
