बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-90, verse-14

अष्टोत्तरसहस्रं चाऽप्यष्टोत्तरशतं जपेत् ।
अथाऽष्टाविंशतिं वापि जपेन्मन्त्रं स्वशक्तितः ॥१४॥
14. aṣṭottarasahasraṃ cā'pyaṣṭottaraśataṃ japet .
athā'ṣṭāviṃśatiṃ vāpi japenmantraṃ svaśaktitaḥ.
14. aṣṭottarasahasram ca api aṣṭottaraśatam japet atha
aṣṭāviṃśatim vā api japet mantram svaśaktitaḥ
14. One should recite the sacred incantation (mantra) 1,008 times, or 108 times. Alternatively, one may also recite it 28 times, according to one's own capacity.
