दैवहीनं तथा कार्यं तथैवैकपवित्रकम् ॥८॥

8. mṛtāhani ca kartavyamekoddiṣṭaṃ śṛṇuṣva tat .

And listen to this: the rite for a single deceased person (ekoddiṣṭa) should be performed on the anniversary of death. That rite should be performed without invoking the gods (daivahīna) and, similarly, with a single purifying object (ekapavitra).
