महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-110, verse-16

गुरवे संश्रुतानीह शतान्यष्टौ हि वाजिनाम् ।
एकतःश्यामकर्णानां शुभ्राणां चन्द्रवर्चसाम् ॥१६॥
16. gurave saṁśrutānīha śatānyaṣṭau hi vājinām ,
ekataḥśyāmakarṇānāṁ śubhrāṇāṁ candravarcasām.

16. Indeed, here, eight hundred horses have been promised to the teacher (guru), of which some have black ears, and others are brilliant like the moon.
