महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-106, verse-5

हुतं यतोमुखैर्हव्यं सर्पते सर्वतोदिशम् ।
एतद्द्वारं द्विजश्रेष्ठ दिवसस्य तथाध्वनः ॥५॥
5. hutaṁ yatomukhairhavyaṁ sarpate sarvatodiśam ,
etaddvāraṁ dvijaśreṣṭha divasasya tathādhvanaḥ.
5. hutam yatomukhaiḥ havyam sarpate sarvatodiśam
etat dvāram dvijaśreṣṭha divasasya tathā adhvanaḥ
5. O best among the twice-born (dvijaśreṣṭha), this [direction] is the gateway of the day and of the path, because from its mouths (referring to the fire in which oblations are offered) the sacrificial offerings (havya) spread in all directions.
