महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-67, verse-15

स कुरुष्व महेष्वास दयां मयि नरर्षभ ।
आनृशंस्यं परो धर्मस्त्वत्त एव हि मे श्रुतम् ॥१५॥
15. sa kuruṣva maheṣvāsa dayāṁ mayi nararṣabha ,
ānṛśaṁsyaṁ paro dharmastvatta eva hi me śrutam.

15. O great archer, O best among men, please show compassion towards me. Non-cruelty (ānṛśaṃsya) is the supreme natural law (dharma), and indeed, I have heard this from you yourself.
