महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-56, verse-2

स नित्यमन्तरप्रेक्षी निषधेष्ववसच्चिरम् ।
अथास्य द्वादशे वर्षे ददर्श कलिरन्तरम् ॥२॥
2. sa nityamantaraprekṣī niṣadheṣvavasacciram ,
athāsya dvādaśe varṣe dadarśa kalirantaram.

| atha asya dvādaśe varṣe dadarśa kaliḥ antaram
2. He (Kali), constantly watching for an opportunity (antaram), resided in Niṣadha for a long time. Then, in Nala's twelfth year, Kali found an opening (antaram).
