मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
न तात हृष्यामि न च स्मयामि प्रहर्षजो मां भजते न दर्पः ।
तवापदं त्वद्य समीक्ष्य रामं सत्यव्रतं दाशरथिं स्मरामि ॥७॥

7. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca ,
na tāta hṛṣyāmi na ca smayāmi; praharṣajo māṁ bhajate na darpaḥ ,
tavāpadaṁ tvadya samīkṣya rāmaṁ; satyavrataṁ dāśarathiṁ smarāmi.

7. mārkaṇḍeyaḥ uvāca na tāta hṛṣyāmi na
ca smayāmi praharṣajaḥ mām bhajate
na darpaḥ tava āpadam tu adya samīkṣya
rāmam satyavratam dāśarathim smarāmi

7. Mārkaṇḍeya said: "No, dear one, I am neither joyful nor proud. Arrogance born of excessive delight does not seize me. Upon seeing your distress today, I am reminded of Rāma, the son of Daśaratha, who is truthful in his vows."

7. מָארְקַנְדֵיַה אמר, בני היקר, אני לא שמח ולא מחייך מגאווה, וגם גאווה שנולדה משמחה אינה אוחזת בי. אלא שכשאני רואה היום את מצוקתך, אני נזכר ברָאמַה בן דַשַׁרַטְהַא, איש האמת הנאמן לנדריו.
