महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-26, verse-10

स चापि शक्रस्य समप्रभावो महानुभावः समरेष्वजेयः ।
विहाय भोगानचरद्वनेषु नेशे बलस्येति चरेदधर्मम् ॥१०॥
10. sa cāpi śakrasya samaprabhāvo; mahānubhāvaḥ samareṣvajeyaḥ ,
vihāya bhogānacaradvaneṣu; neśe balasyeti caredadharmam.
10. saḥ ca api śakrasya samaprabhāvaḥ
mahānubhāvaḥ samareṣu ajeyaḥ
vihāya bhogān acarat vaneṣu na
īśe balasya iti caret adharmam
10. He, who was equal to Indra in splendor, greatly influential, and unconquerable in battles, abandoned pleasures and wandered in the forests, embodying the principle that one should not resort to unrighteousness (adharma) by saying, 'I am not master of my power (bala).'
