Vaiśampāyana said: "Then he spoke to Bhīma, who possessed great valor: 'O Bhīmasena, diligently protect Draupadī! O dear one, in Arjuna's absence and when he is not present, you alone must care for Draupadī in these times of unhappiness.'"
