महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-108, verse-4

ततः स्थित्वा नरश्रेष्ठं भगीरथमुवाच ह ।
प्रयाचस्व महाबाहो शैलराजसुतां नदीम् ।
पतमानां सरिच्छ्रेष्ठां धारयिष्ये त्रिविष्टपात् ॥४॥
4. tataḥ sthitvā naraśreṣṭhaṁ bhagīrathamuvāca ha ,
prayācasva mahābāho śailarājasutāṁ nadīm ,
patamānāṁ saricchreṣṭhāṁ dhārayiṣye triviṣṭapāt.

uvāca ha prayācasva mahābāho
śailarājasutām nadīm patamānām

4. Then, having stood, he addressed Bhagiratha, the foremost of men, saying: 'O mighty-armed one, you should request the river, the daughter of the mountain king. I will hold the best of rivers as she falls from heaven.'
