महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-79, verse-17

साहं दुःखान्विता भीरु पतिपुत्रविनाकृता ।
इहैव प्रायमाशिष्ये प्रेक्षन्त्यास्ते न संशयः ॥१७॥

17. O timid one, I, afflicted by sorrow and bereft of my husband and son, will undertake a fast unto death (prāya) right here, while you are watching. There is no doubt about this.
