महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-23, verse-20

मयि प्रलीने प्रलयं व्रजन्ति सर्वे प्राणाः प्राणभृतां शरीरे ।
मयि प्रचीर्णे च पुनश्चरन्ति श्रेष्ठो ह्यहं पश्यत मां प्रलीनम् ॥२०॥
20. mayi pralīne pralayaṁ vrajanti; sarve prāṇāḥ prāṇabhṛtāṁ śarīre ,
mayi pracīrṇe ca punaścaranti; śreṣṭho hyahaṁ paśyata māṁ pralīnam.

20. When I (the chief vital breath) am absorbed, all vital breaths (prāṇa) in the bodies of living beings go to dissolution. And when I am again active, they move once more. Indeed, I am the most excellent; behold me even when absorbed.
