महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-60, verse-6

अथ चेत्प्रतिगृह्णीयुर्दद्यादहरहर्नृपः ।
श्रद्धामास्थाय परमां पावनं ह्येतदुत्तमम् ॥६॥
6. atha cetpratigṛhṇīyurdadyādaharaharnṛpaḥ ,
śraddhāmāsthāya paramāṁ pāvanaṁ hyetaduttamam.
6. atha cet pratigṛhṇīyuḥ dadyāt aharahaḥ nṛpaḥ
śraddhām āsthāya paramām pāvanam hi etat uttamam
6. atha cet te (sādhavaḥ) pratigṛhṇīyuḥ,
(tadā) nṛpaḥ paramām śraddhām āsthāya aharahaḥ dadyāt.
hi etat uttamam pāvanam.
6. Now, if they were to accept (gifts from him), the king should give daily, cultivating the highest faith (śraddhā). For this indeed is the supreme purifier.
