महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-60, verse-4

भीष्म उवाच ।
रौद्रं कर्म क्षत्रियस्य सततं तात वर्तते ।
तस्य वैतानिकं कर्म दानं चैवेह पावनम् ॥४॥
4. bhīṣma uvāca ,
raudraṁ karma kṣatriyasya satataṁ tāta vartate ,
tasya vaitānikaṁ karma dānaṁ caiveha pāvanam.

vartate tasya vaitānikam karma dānam ca eva iha pāvanam

4. Bhishma said: 'O dear one, a kshatriya's action (karma) is inherently fierce. For such a person, the Vedic rituals performed with the sacred fires (vaitānika karma) and giving (dāna) are indeed purifying in this world.'
