महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-136, verse-22

श्मशाने ह्यपि तेजस्वी पावको नैव दुष्यति ।
हविर्यज्ञेषु च वहन्भूय एवाभिशोभते ॥२२॥

22. Indeed, even in a cremation ground, the brilliant fire is never defiled. Moreover, carrying oblations in (Vedic rituals) [yajñeṣu], it shines forth even more gloriously.
