महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-123, verse-8

सुरापोऽसंमतादायी भ्रूणहा गुरुतल्पगः ।
तपसा तरते सर्वमेनसश्च प्रमुच्यते ॥८॥
8. surāpo'saṁmatādāyī bhrūṇahā gurutalpagaḥ ,
tapasā tarate sarvamenasaśca pramucyate.

tapasā tarate sarvam enasaḥ ca pramucyate
8. surāpaḥ asaṃmatādāyī bhrūṇahā gurutalpagaḥ (api) tapasā sarvam enasaḥ tarate ca pramucyate.
8. A person who drinks liquor, one who seizes what is not permitted, a slayer of an embryo, or one who violates the guru's bed—by means of austerity (tapas), he overcomes all sin and is completely liberated.
