महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-81, verse-15

ततश्च वायुभक्षोऽभूत्संवत्सरमतन्द्रितः ।
पञ्चाग्निमध्ये च तपस्तेपे संवत्सरं नृपः ॥१५॥
15. tataśca vāyubhakṣo'bhūtsaṁvatsaramatandritaḥ ,
pañcāgnimadhye ca tapastepe saṁvatsaraṁ nṛpaḥ.
15. tataḥ ca vāyubhakṣaḥ abhūt saṃvatsaram atandritaḥ
pañcāgnimadhye ca tapaḥ tepe saṃvatsaram nṛpaḥ
15. Thereafter, without weariness, he subsisted on air for a year. The king also performed severe tapas, sitting amidst five fires, for another year.
