महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-81, verse-14

पूर्णं वर्षसहस्रं स एवंवृत्तिरभून्नृपः ।
अब्भक्षः शरदस्त्रिंशदासीन्नियतवाङ्मनाः ॥१४॥
14. pūrṇaṁ varṣasahasraṁ sa evaṁvṛttirabhūnnṛpaḥ ,
abbhakṣaḥ śaradastriṁśadāsīnniyatavāṅmanāḥ.
14. pūrṇam varṣasahasram sa evamvṛttiḥ abhūt nṛpaḥ
abbhakṣaḥ śaradaḥ triṃśat āsīt niyatavāṅmanāḥ
14. The king maintained this conduct for a full thousand years. For thirty years, he subsisted on water, his speech and mind fully controlled.
