महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-178, verse-5

कन्दर्पबाणाभिनिपीडिताङ्गाः कृष्णागतैस्ते हृदयैर्नरेन्द्राः ।
रङ्गावतीर्णा द्रुपदात्मजार्थं द्वेष्यान्हि चक्रुः सुहृदोऽपि तत्र ॥५॥
5. kandarpabāṇābhinipīḍitāṅgāḥ; kṛṣṇāgataiste hṛdayairnarendrāḥ ,
raṅgāvatīrṇā drupadātmajārthaṁ; dveṣyānhi cakruḥ suhṛdo'pi tatra.

kṛṣṇā-gataiḥ te hṛdayaiḥ narā-indrāḥ
raṅga-avatīrṇāḥ drupada-ātmajā-artham
dveṣyān hi cakruḥ suhṛdaḥ api tatra
5. Those kings, whose bodies were afflicted by the arrows of the god of love (kandarpa), and whose hearts were fixed on Kṛṣṇā, had descended into the arena for the sake of Drupada's daughter. There, they even considered their friends as enemies.
